Pelé is a retired Brazilian soccer player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento on October 23, 1940 in Três Corações, Brazil. Pelé began playing soccer at a young age and joined the Santos Football Club in 1956, where he played until 1974. He was a member of the Brazilian national team that won the World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970. Pelé was known for his skill, speed, and scoring ability, and he scored a total of 1,281 goals in 1,363 games during his professional career. He was also a ambassador for soccer and was involved in several charitable organizations.
